Acclaimed on prestigious stages such as the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, the Festspielhaus-Baden-Baden or the Opéra national of Paris, the Swiss soprano Gabriela Scherer has earned recognition for her ardent portrayals of roles by Gluck, Mozart, Puccini, Strauss, Verdi, Wagner and Weber. In the last three seasons, she has made her debuts in a variety of iconic roles of the German jugendlich dramatische and the Italian lirico spinto repertoire, such as Chrysothemis in Elektra (Semperoper Dresden), Leonore in Fidelio (Lisbon), the title roles of Arabella (Deutsche Oper am Rhein) and Tosca (Dortmund), Elsa in Lohengrin, Elisabetta in Don Carlo and Agathe in Der Freischütz (Oper Leipzig). Gabriela Scherer also has a special focus on Mozart and sang her first Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Staatsoper Berlin in the 2023/24 season.
